    Pie in the Face

West Greene’s Physical Education Teacher, Tonya Winfield, promised those students who raised $40.00 or more dollars for the AHA, they would get to pie a teacher.  If West Greene raised over$1,500.00 all teachers would have to hula hoop in front of the whole school.  As promised, on March 21st, 2014 we had an assembly in which 52 students got to pie a teacher and all the teachers had to hula hoop.

    **Read to Achieve**
The Read to Achieve Program is a part of the Excellent Public School Act which became law in July of 2012 and applies to all schools at the beginning of the 2013-2014 school year.
    The State Goal § 115C-83.1A.
The goal of the State is to ensure that every student read at or above grade level by the end of third grade and continue to progress in reading proficiency so that he or she can read, comprehend, integrate, and apply complex text when needed for secondary education and career success.
